Cloudflare has teamed up with payment giants Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to develop a framework for AI-driven commerce. The initiative leverages the Web Bot Auth protocol, allowing AI agents to conduct transactions at millions of global merchants. This builds on Cloudflare's earlier collaboration with Visa on the Trusted Agent Protocol, which integrates Web Bot Auth to facilitate secure interactions between merchants and AI shopping agents.

Visa is embedding these AI protocols into its Visa Intelligence Commerce platform, signaling a shift toward autonomous agentic transactions. The MOVE follows Cloudflare's July announcement of the x402 protocol with Coinbase, designed to enable real-time payments by digital agents. "A new era of commerce is emerging," said Visa's Chief Product and Strategy Officer, highlighting the transformative potential of AI in payments.
